Hai is an Indian
soap opera currently aired on channel STAR Plus. The series premiered on
October 3, 2011. The story is about two sisters Jeevika and Maanvi, who
love each other enough to
share their life and
even breath. Originally set in Rishikesh, the story moves to Chandigarh
after Jeevika’s marriage to Viren. Maanvi and Jeevika were raised by
their parents in the upscale city of Delhi. However, they are orphaned
in childhood. After they lose their parents, they settle into a middle
class, traditional family of Rishikesh, which is a stark contrast to
their lives earlier. They
grow up stifling any
demands they may have openly made earlier, and fit into a traditional
mould.After Jeevika’s marriage with Viren, she goes to Chandigarh and
her sister,Manvi also gets close with Viren’s brother,Virat.The show got
its
success as it started and is among one of
the highest rated television shows.It won 3 awards at star parivaar
awards among which 2 were of the the popular category. It has a stiff
competition with Zee TV’s Super Hit serial Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli.
