The Sensex continues to trade flat with positive bias. At 10.15 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 10.39 points or 0.06% at 18,047.58 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 11.35 points or 0.21% at 5,384.65 with 23 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 104.32 points or 0.58% at 18,141.51, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 36.35 points or 0.67%, at 5,432.35.
Sensex Movers
Infosys Technologies contributed rise of 16.78 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (7.57 points), I T C (6.28 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (6.25 points) and State Bank Of India (5.64 points).
However, I C I C I Bank contributed fall of 12.63 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Reliance Industries (10.98 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (9.9 points), Larsen & Toubro (6.63 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (5.92 points).
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Cipla (1.83%), Bajaj Auto (1.42%), Tata Power Company (1.41%), Bharti Airtel (1.36%), NTPC (0.95%), and Infosys Technologies (0.90%).
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (2.63%), D L F (1.26%), Jaiprakash Associates (1.17%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.05%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.92%), and Hero Honda Motors (0.92%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.

The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts declining -0.22% and 0.23% respectively.
