On June 22, 2009, the storyline of the show took a 10-year leap forward.Uttaran has also been dubbed in Tamil language and telecast under the title Sindhu Bhairavi.Uttaran is the story of two friends with diametrically opposite backgrounds. Tapasya a.k.a. Tapu (Bhairavi in Tamil) is the daughter of a wealthy aristocratic couple, Divya and Jogi Thakur; while Ichchha (Sindhu in Tamil) is the daughter of their poor, live-in domestic help, Damini (Thamarai in Tamil).
