The Chicago Bears used a fast start to cruise past the Seattle Seahawks and into the NFC Championship game.
The Bears led 21-0 less than five minutes into the second quarter, and although Seattle briefly threatened a late comeback, it was a comfortable afternoon for the Bears, even in Chicago's freezing temperatures.
Jay Cutler's 58-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen got it started before Chester Taylor ran in from one yard and Cutler added his own rushing touchdown.
They were threatening a rout, but did not score again until four minutes from the end of the fourth quarter and a second rushing touchdown for Cutler.
Seattle finally got on the board with a 30-yard field goal from Olindo Mare, and got their first touchdown with 11:21 left in the game, a short pass from Matt Hasselback to Mike Williams cutting the gap to 28-10.
But the Bears responded with another touchdown of their own.
The Seahawks continued to battle, and caught a break when Charles Tillman's attempted interception handed Williams an easy touchdown catch with a little over two minutes left, and although Brandon Stokley caught another late touchdown, the Bears closed it out.
They will play the Green Bay Packers in Chicago next weekend.
